Fiona Strens has spent 30 years working in strategic and leadership roles in security, technology and data.
She started her career in the Ministry of Defence and spent 10 years there in multiple roles, becoming a Senior Civil Servant responsible for science and technology policy. She moved into strategy and technology consultancy, built a practice and led projects for national security sector clients across Government and Industry. Most recently, she co-founded and was CEO of CrowdVision, an innovative data company deploying IoT and AI technologies, that grew from being a start-up to having an international footprint with blue chip customers before being acquired.
She is currently a Professor of Practice focused on security and resilience at the University of Strathclyde and Non-Executive Director at Corps Security, a security services company run as a social enterprise.
Fiona holds a BA/MA from Cambridge University in Computer Science. She dedicates time to advocating in schools for STEM careers and mentors young tech company entrepreneurs.
