OS VectorMap District is a simple vector dataset with a nominal scale of 1:25000 covering the whole of Great Britain that has been designed for creating graphical mapping. The product can be used as mapping in its own right or can be used to provide a flexible geographic context reference for customers’ overlay information.

OS VectorMap District comes in two raster (flat image) versions: full-colour – good for print-outs; and backdrop – better as a backdrop for your analysis. They’re a quick way to get started with OS VectorMap District.

When you order OS VectorMap District and OS Street View, you will be asked to order by 100km area.
When you receive the data, you will notice that it is broken down into 10km tiles for OS VectorMap District and 5km tiles for OS Street View*. It can therefore be difficult to establish exactly what tile(s) you need to access to look at your area of interest.
To help you know which tiles you will need to access, we have created a PDF document for each 100km tile of data in the National Grid showing the 10km tile grids on top. This will help you to quickly establish the tile(s) of data relevant to you. Simply click on a tile reference above to open the PDF.
