Request for information - Ref No: FOI231181
Request
Thank you for your email of 20 September 2023 requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000, as set out in the extract below:
“We would like to formally issue a FOI request for the below and which we understand is data you hold and not exempt from ROI exemptions.
Whilst we understand we do not need to provide an explanation as to why we require the data, we are looking to compile a UK wide total deep dive analysis of hundreds of the key public organisations so we can compare them all together on a like for like basis to see the full picture.
We believe there is an innate public interest in the disclosure of environmental information to the public, as well as a general public interest in all publicly funded organisations in being transparent and accountable regarding the environmental information they hold. Disclosing information on the overall cost of gas and electricity to your organisation for the last 2 financial years, would better allow the public to understand the energy needs of all government and key public sector organisations and would also aid the public to better scrutinise environmentally related expenditure to determine that it is cost-effective and appropriate.
The energy usage and cost information requested is what should be easily accessible by your energy procurement/bill validation team and so we please ask your team to complete the below and email back to us complete.
Ultimately the public have a entitlement to know what is being consumed and spent by the publicly funded originations and so we thank you for your co-operation in advance.”
